Online MBA Degree Programs: Are they Respectable
0 Comments Published by Lifetime-Learner June 23rd, 2008 in Online College Degrees, Online MBA Degree ProgramsYears ago the only way to earn a ‘respectable’ MBA degree was go to a traditional brick and mortar institution. That’s no longer the case. In fact, many old regime universities have already made the transition to offering their MBA programs online—and more colleges are increasingly following this pattern.
In my opinion, this not only provides an effective means for adult learners and those too busy working to build their careers to earn a ’traditional’ MBA degree, but now the online MBA degree programs are on equal footing with those offered on campus.
Now, before moving on with the topic of online MBA degrees we do need to separate the wheat from the chaff. When I speak of online degrees, particularly with respect to, well, respectability, and acceptability in the job market, I’m talking about accredited universities and programs. In the United States, that generally means regional accreditation, (or one that is accredited by a body recognized by the US Department of Education, for example the Distance Education Training Council (DETC). But be aware that some employers are still looking for graduates of regionally accredited institutions ONLY, so you’d be wise to check with your employer or potential employers first.
Whatever you do, stay away from fake online MBA programs and diploma mills. An online MBA degree that can be earned by sending in a fee and a short summary of you experiences is not going to be respected by anyone—including you!
Again, stick with accredited schools and schools with a good reputation. And many online MBA degree programs are offered by schools with outstanding reputations.
In my opinion online MBA degree programs not only replicate the traditional classroom experience, they enhance it. With chat rooms and the ability interact with other students and professors and to be able to replay audio / video lectures over-and-over until you’ve mastered the material, why bother going the brick and mortar path—anyway. But I do. Of course, recognize that some students are more comfortable with traditional classes and better suited for this learning model.
In the end, online MBS degree programs are well worth looking into….

With CLEP you can earn three to twelve credits for each exam you pass.
And, CLEP credits are accepted by over 3,000 accredited colleges and universities.

1 Comment Published by Lifetime-Learner June 20th, 2008 in Online Law Schools, Online Learning / e-LearningHow to Study - Free Study Tips for Online Degree Students
0 Comments Published by Lifetime-Learner June 19th, 2008 in Online Learning / e-LearningHow is it that some online university students manager rapidly master, memorize and ace exams while others (maybe you?) just cannot get it. I think we’re all kind of the same and that you’re likely equally gifted as the next guy or gal (Einsteins excepted, of course), right? So what’s holding you back?
Generally speaking we all come into this world with the same basic equipment needed to survive. Academically this means — brains. But some just use them better than others. It has long been my feeling that the so called extraoridnary online degree students identify and utilize effective study habits and continue with it because works for them. But for countless struggling others, studying and test taking just doesn’t come naturally, These students just don’t realize that there are skills they can easily learn and implement.
Think for a moment how effortlessly young children quickly learn complex language and cultural skills. For theses youngsters learning is not only easy but it is fun, am I right? With rare exception all children easily learn and acquire a mass of knowledge and skills and to thoroughly enjoy the process too.
Then, we send them off to conventional learning institutions and grade -by-grade we crank it up a notch until all the fun is gone and learning becomes hard work. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way at all. Sure you will need to put in study time and exert energy to get good grades, but if learning can be fun again then you will learn new things in a more natural environment as you did when you were young.
Learning should be fun right? Online degree students (and traditional students) fail not because they’re lacking in brains, rather its because they have failed to learn an effective study system that makes learning fun again.
Ok, today I want to recommend 5 Free Special Study Reports that I think will help you get started in developing your study skills naturally:

Powerful E-Learning: A Preliminary Study of Learner Experiences
0 Comments Published by Lifetime-Learner June 17th, 2008 in Online Learning / e-Learning, UncategorizedFinally a scientific study on the power of e-Learning. I came across this extraordinary study published by the MERLOT Journal of Online Learning and Teaching. I think it sheds light on the need for a ‘meaningful learning experience” and how e-Learning can (and does) meet the challenge.
Here is a summary of the study:
This study continues a program of research into the nature of powerful learning experiences, with a focus this time on e-learning contexts. It was conducted using structured phone interviews with adult learners pursuing undergraduate degrees through e-learning coursework. Among other things, data suggest that meaningful social interaction and emotions may be important components in powerful learning experiences. In addition, the data suggest that powerful learning can indeed occur in e-learning environments. Results of this study combine with those from three previous studies to point toward practices of instructional designers and educators that may contribute to powerful learning in e-learning environments. Further examination of powerful learning in such environments holds promise.

How to Become a Paralegal with Online Paralegal Degree Programs
0 Comments Published by Lifetime-Learner June 16th, 2008 in Online Paralegal DegreesThere is a growing demand for qualified paralegals and trained legal assistants and, according to leading forcasts there is no end in sight. New positions for qualified paralegals will continue to grow, but the key word to focus on here is “ qualified.”
Question” Can online paralegal degree holders really be considered to be “qualified” paraprofessionals? The answer, in my opinion is absolutely YES! But as with traditional paralegal programs, not all online paralegal degree programs are the same. You’ll need to compare schools, programs and then make a wise decision.
A high quality online paralegal degree program should do more than just offer you the flexibility of studying when and where you wish. It is important that you find a paralegal program that is challenging and replicates the traditional classroom experience. You see, you need to be able to engage in a bit of academic discourse with your professors and peers if you really want to master the law. A good online paralegal degree program will offer student chat rooms where you can work together with your classmates and professors.
